It is known that Internet addressing system uses unique digital combinations in the form of IP addresses. However, it is more convenient for people to use symbolic names while navigating Internet. Domain Name System (DNS) is meant to translate symbolic addresses to their digital counterparts. DNS decides which server you will connect to if you enter a specific symbol name.

DNS system gets more and more vulnerable over time. Malicious users can easily forward the requests which users make with symbolic names to fake servers, and then gather passwords, credit card numbers and other sensitive data. Users can do nothing about this, as in most cases they have no idea about their request is being redirected.

We need to say that this happens because of vulnerabilities inherent to DNS protocol, and the programs implementing this protocol can't be responsible for that. DNSSEC, a new generation of address security was developed to address the current internet communication security issues.

DNSSEC is widespread already all around the world. Now RU domain is also integrated to DNSSEC system by the efforts of R01 (national domain name registration service).
